2016 Middlebury (6B0) Fly-In

What a wonderful day! The magnificent colors of an Autumn in New England are nowhere more vibrantly displayed than in Vermont. The temperatures were in the low seventies, light winds were from the north right down runway 01 and the skies were clear with just enough clouds to make the setting picture perfect. Seven airplanes brought 15 members and guests to this, the last event of the year for the UFO Northeast Region. Dave and Rebecca Mroczek from Northfield Massachusetts were the first to arrive with their guest Fred Fraini. It was their first UFO event and they were welcomed by organizers Dick Catlin and Bob Barker. Others landed shortly after and joined the group for some homemade brownies and fellowship at the airport.

Middlebury is a lovely New England college town. Dick and Bob provided ground transportation to the Storm Café in the center of town and the setting and the food could not have been better. On the way back to the airport Dick drove slowly through the extensive college campus, stopping briefly atop a hill with a breathtaking view of the mountains surrounding the college. Back at the field, the friendly airport manage, who goes by the name of Cisco, thanked us for coming and wished all a safe flight home. There can be no doubt we will repeat this event next year.
